Swim in the sea

Take advantage living so close to the sea and try some open water swimming! There are lots of health benefits to this, like improved alertness and concentration! Have a go – but make sure you do this safely. You should only swim when the tide is coming in and it is close to High Tide. Check the beach safety instructions first.

Where to start

Make sure that you are a comfortable and confident swimmer as the sea can be unpredictable. It’s best to ask an adult to come with you.

Make sure that you swim within safe areas and are aware of how changeable the sea can be. Never go out of your depth. Also think about the temperate!

When you feel confident how about joining an open water swimming group to meet more people doing the same as you?
